Description 2

Ground color translucent greyish-white. A narrow, median dark brown line extends posteriorly from frontal margin, between rhinophores to anterior of branchial plumes, where it joins the two lines from the extra-branchial appendages, a similar extends from posterior of branchial plumes to tip of tail which bears a subterminal band of yellow. Rhinophores bear 10-12 lamellae; clavus cadmium yellow to orange on distal half. Extra-rhinophoral appendages with a subterminal ring of cadmium yellow to orange and a wide, oblique band of dark bfrown just proximal of subterminal ring. Branchial plumes 3, uni- and bipinnate, whitish with cadmium yellow to orange distally, and with a dark brown, rather oval spot on outer basal surface of rachis of each plume. Extra-branchial appendages cadmium yellow to orange on distal third leaving extreme tip white, a dark brown line extends along dorsal surface of proximal half of each appendage.

Up to 27mm in length.

Geographic Range 2

Carmel, Monterey Co., CA, to Bahía Tortugas, Baja California, Mexico.

Notes 2

Found in the low, rocky intertidal, and subtidal to 20 meters. In the Monterey Bay area, thus far reported only from the subtidal, but does occur in the intertidal in southern California.
