Summary 2

A rare species found only in low numbers. Note the shorter-than-average tail compared to the other Sorex species, however Masked and Arctic Shrews can sometimes have shorter tails, too. Sorex shrews are very difficult to identify without close examination of the teeth.

Coniferous forest, especially forests with Jack Pine.
