The male of this species is a very distinctive orange color unlike any other Wisconsin mammal. The females are all gray but have reddish wings. Present in Wisconsin only in the summer, migrates further south in winter.

Statewide.

Habitat 3

Roosts in trees, forages anywhere there is large numbers of flying insects.

2-3", wingspan 13-14".
