Serious Threat to our beloved wetlands and Tropical Dry Forest Ecosystem

This is an SOS call to the international community to put your eyes in the opening of the Guayepo Creek (Cartagena de Indias North Zone) where a great number of the beautiful species of the Colombia's Northern Coast Birds Catalog, have been observed. The water dynamics of the creek were changed with the construction of a levee with two major consequences: (1) the disappearing of the nearby wetlands where lots of marine birds and migratory birds find shelter and (2) the enormous variation in the salinity in the two seasons rainy and wet, hereby increasing the temperature, the lack of oxygen and the massive death of juvenile fish. Last weekend millions of fish were found dead as you can read in the link of the local newspaper: http://www.eluniversal.com.co/cartagena/falta-de-oxigeno-ocasionaria-mortandad-de-peces-en-manzanillo-154368#comment-474428

Please join us in a crusade to ask the local authorities the transparency in their investigation and the measures to be taken.
