Description

This organism was found on a porch wall living in a suburban area near a lawn. This organisms exoskeleton shell was white and contained a brown spot right in the middle of its shell. It was relatively small and has edges that are rough. In order to identify this organism I used Apple snails as the reference via INaturalist page.

Description

This organism was found behind the SCA building and on a tree in an environment that was forest like and found on a University campus. This Brown Anole lizard is small and has a brown color to it with spots and specks of dark brown with patterns on it. This organism was identified using the Reptile database.

Ringless Honey Mushroom (Desarmillaria caespitosa)

Description

This mushroom organism was found behind the SCA building. It was found within grass and in a forest like environment on a University campus where their were other mushrooms around as well. The cap contains a orange and yellow color and also contains gills that are yellow. The margins of the pileus contains a cracked edge. In order to identify this mushroom I used First Nature as a reference in order to identify the mushroom.

Red Imported Fire Ant (Solenopsis invicta)

Description

This organism was found behind the USF Science Center Building: SCA near a lake and next to a large tree. The color of this organism was red and small the size of a nail and contained a dark red color Gaster. It was found with other ants as well as seen in the picture taken. In order to identify the ant I used the reference source Ant Web to identify the species.

Description

The organism is mainly brown with spots of white and black fur throughout the body. This organism is a deuterostome. Near the squirrels stomach the body has white fur. The tail has black, brown, and white hair. The squirrels body is relatively small. The squirrel was found on University campus near the Science Center Building (SCA) in an environment that is both cultivated and near a city area and in a forest area with trees that produce foods.

Description

This Seeded vascular plant known as Spanish Moss was located on USF campus. The Spanish moss originates from (Tillandsia usneoides) species which was found from the plant atlas website. The moss contains gray and green leaves growing away from the moss and in a circular area. This moss was found on the trunk of a tree with other Spanish moss also present in its surroundings.

Description

This observation of a White moss also known as (Leucobryum albidum) was made at USF campus on a palm tree trunk. This seedless non-vascular plant has an irregular shape that contains light green and white moss growing. The growth of this moss is asymmetrical as it surrounds the tree in multiple different areas due to moss growing in places that contains moisture.

Description

This organism is a seedless vascular plant that utilizes vascular tissue to transport water, nutrients and sugar through out their body. This fern does not contain seeds to reproduce instead it utilizes spores. Observing this fern it is found to contain brown circles on the end of the leaves. These ferns are located growing on tree trunks.
