Description

Surprisingly this specimen was of the Walckenaeri subgroup (distribution centered on Arabia and horn of Africa) and not of the Dufouri subgroup with distribution in Iberia and the Maghreb (Moradmand, 2013, Zootaxa 3675). It appears to be the Westernmost known occurrence of this species.

I am a little uncertain about the ID because of the lack of the characteristic spots on the wing, but I am not aware of the presence of any other Schistocerca species in Namibia. Any alternate suggestions welcome.
