Domestic Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos var. domesticus)Observer
bagarnerDescription
This male duck has joined the Mallard group. Shown here with a female and male Mallard. It appears to be accepted though has a white chest and brown body and is about 10-15% larger than the male Mallards. It has a green/blue back head and neck similar to the male Mallards. It appears to be a little more dominant than the Mallard males and sometimes the female mallards hang around it until a male Mallard breaks up the group. Is it a hybrid?
