Bushveld Speckled Mousebird (Colius striatus ssp. minor)Observer
carlbodenstaffDescription
Mousebirds eating the leaves from this plant that sprouted next to our bird feeder, I think the plant may be from the Papaya family. I have done a separate post for the identification of the tree.

What
Papaya (Carica papaya)Observer
carlbodenstaffDescription
This tree, next to our bird feeder just sprouted, it was not planted. It could have been from food we put in the bird feeder or it could have been the seed that was brought in by a bird visiting the feeder. It is fast growing, is only about a year old, and is now about Two meters tall. The mouse birds eat the leaves.

What
Fly Pirates (Genus Bengalia)Observer
carlbodenstaffDescription
Watched this fly rob the eggs/pupae from the small black ants as the ants were carrying them along their path, possibly moving them from their nest to a more suitable place. The fly would sit on the brick paving and watch the ants move along their path, when the ants carried a pupae it would fly up at it and take the pupae from the ants, return to its sighting site on the paving and eat the pupae. In the picture you can see the fly eating the pupae. It did this multiple times but it was difficult to get pictures as it was very active.

Feather-legged Lace Weaver (Uloborus plumipes)Observer
carlbodenstaffDescription
This small spider was about 4 mm long, it had caught and wrapped a fly and seemed to be feeding on it. Its web was in a window space in our house and unfortunately I could only get a position to take the photos against the light so the pics are not very clear.

Butterflies and Moths (Order Lepidoptera)Observer
carlbodenstaffDescription
Found these what looks like very small worms that have hatched from a cocoon type substance on my bathroom wall on the joint between the tiles. The cocoon/egg case was about one centimeter long and when I wiped it off the wall it was a soft spongy substance that almost just melted away. The little worms were about 1 mm long. If I had to guess I would say they might be bag worms as I have had some of those but more mature in bag in the house before.
