What
Shaggy Mane (Coprinus comatus)Observer
conwaysuzDescription
iNat says this is in the Coprinus genus with Shaggy Mane being the top suggestion. They were growing in the open next to a road, in bark/wood chips. They were 4"-6" tall.
What
Black-necked Stilt (Himantopus mexicanus)Observer
conwaysuzDescription
An unusual visitor, but IDed for me by several very knowledgeable birders.
Had I paid more attention to the name of the bird I would have waited until it came out from behind the log. I assume it had very long, "stilt-like" legs ;)
