Description

Found this spider at the boat ramp at the Neches river in Evadale. The picture was taken using a stereo microscope at 200x. This specimen is approximately 0.9 cm long from leg to leg. The body is approximately 0.4 cm long.

This spider was found quickly jumping on green foliage. It has 2 very large clear eyes that protrude from the front of the cephalothorax and six black eyes surrounded by a mat of cream colored hair on the dorsal side, distal to the two larger forward facing eyes. Two parallel rows of black dots adorn the dorsal side of the abdomen.
