I originally thought these were red-crowned cranes, but due to some comments and IDs from other people, I have concluded that they are Sandhill cranes. I mainly picked red-crowned cranes because of their red crowns, but one of people that helped ID these species commented that red-crowned cranes only live in Japan. So I concluded with Sandhill Crane. It was a cloudy day. It had rained before this picture was taken. They were found behind the library, in the parking lot. It was 88° around this time.
