These very tall plants aren't trees, but have a pithy stem and can be an inch in diameter. They grew in a very wet area with poor soil. the root system if quite shallow and they are easy to pull up. We've never seen these before.

The mocking bird on the far right flew at the eagle several times. At the time of this photo it had been reported by others that a pair of eagles at Gulf State Park had recently hatched 2 eaglets.

Several of the larger fungi in this area are covered with what looks like a white mold or powdery mildew. It is the white stuff that seems to be attacking the mushroom that I'd like to identify.
