Field Notes - this stunning local native tree Gumbi Gumbi, Snotty Gobble, Native Apricot caught my attention with its masses of orange fruit. in previous years number of fruit much lower. Leaves are supposed to be eatable and used for cancer treatment by Aboriginals. Fruit approx 1-1.5cm. leaves approx 2.5cm long and 0.5cm wide. Roadside with loamy soil. Surrounded by farmland. exposed to wind and weather.

Field Notes - approx 0.5-1cm long larvae zipping around my fresh water pond. water lilies and 2 other water plants species growing in pots in water. hair algae love the pond for multiplication. diffetent dragonfly larvae and adults have also been obsetved at different times. white cloud fish for mosquito control and black tadpoles from self-invited frogs are also present. pond is covered by shade cloth to reduce heating of water.

Field Notes - the pair of 28s who have in since last year. flying from post to post for safety. one is noticeably smaller. I suspect that is the female. new plantings of native and non-native plants since 2012. minimal original shrubbery survived from previous owners. open stock paddock. Eucalyptus wind breaks. Sandy soil.

Field Notes - I was shocked to find my acacia in pic 4 totally bare of leaves. looking for culprits I found 4 congo lines of caterpillars looking for more food. the numbers per line were 12-20 individual caterpillars. needless to say they did not survive my discovery. I am working hard to regret not this property despite weevils pink and greys and rabbits destroying a lot of new plantings. hungry caterpillars are the last thing I need. )-:
