Observations by hoffa

Giant Floater (Pyganodon grandis) found on the Clear Fork Trinity River, downstream of the Benbrook Lake outfall in Pecan Valley Park. Hinge intact, but was brittle and cracked easily.

Speckled kingsnake (Lampropeltis holbrooki) found near bridge crossing near Padera Lake, west of Midlothian, TX just north of US-287.

Giant Floater (Pyganodon grandis) found on Village Creek under Everman-Kennedale Rd bridge. Specimen was found alive with foot extended, but with hole cut in shell from recent predation attempt.

Washboard (Megalonias nervosa) found on Trinity River downstream of US 79 northeast of Oakwood. Found with several other large specimens.

Threeridge (Amblema plicata) found on Village Creek near Freeman Dr in Fort Worth. Only 1/2 shell found, in gravel outwash.

Tapered pondhorn (Uniomerus declivis) found in stream bed of Mountain Creek downstream of US 287 bridge between Mansfield and Midlothian. Hinge intact and flexible.

Pondhorn (Uniomerus tetralasmus) found on Quil Miller Creek upstream of CR 532 (Fox Ln) bridge in Burleson. Found dead on bank, slight deterioration.

Tapered pondhorn specimen found on Mountain Creek downstream of Hwy 157 bridge between Mansfield and Venus. 1/2 shell found on bank, possible recent predation due to lack of shell decay.
