A small grey creature 4 to 5 mm long, found on a young pukatea plant (laurelia novae-zelandiae).
Many leaves have on most of their leaf points, white tubular things 1.5 to 2mm long with a black spot or cap at one end, possibly the creature's eggs or pupae.
The creature waved its tail when I got too close with my camera. See photo 4620.
