Description

AKA the Birch Lace Bug. I found several of these on a Yellow Birch. They can generally be found on the underside of the leaves. They are very small, 3mm or less.

Description

Mentioned in Lichens of N.A, but not pictured. Says it is a rare eastern coastal species, and this was growing in a mixed forest less than 100 feet from the ocean. You can see the brown apothecia in a few areas. I know exactly where this is so I could easily find it again.
