What

Sulphur Tuft (Hypholoma fasciculare)

Observer

judymac

Date

October 18, 2021

Description

On fallen oak log. Small caps 1/2" across, in clusters. Dye with alum on wool was light gold. (Sorry about the photo--I forgot to take a photo in the woods, and had to pull the mushrooms out of the dye soaking water to take the photo, the colors had definitely changed, the stem no longer being straw yellow, and the gills no longer stained purple by the spores.)
