Quite a large clump growing along the drainage ditch behind the pond in the front pasture. There are several good-sized clumps of S. pilosum in the front pasture and near the barn.

Strange and interesting... I saw this single plant growing in front of the blackberries in the south hayfield. I read where the leaves smell like maple syrup, so I went back to have a whiff. Even though the leaves on the stems were dried, they still had a faint scent of maple syrup. The fuzzy buds and a couple of flowers were very interesting...
