Description

Couldn’t find a mallard online that matched the colors of this pair.
Maybe a “blonde mallard”? According to several articles online (not reputable sources) blonde mallards only occur 1 to every 165,000. But how did they find each other? Why do they choose mates with similar markings? Are they the same exact species as the typical green headed (male) and multicolored brown and tan (female) mallards?
