Sponges (Phylum Porifera)Observer

This organism looked like a rock, which is why my kids picked it up, but it was slightly squishy and definitely organic. I have no idea if it’s a sea pork or a different tunicate, or something else entirely. (The grey color made me wonder if it was deceased?) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated—we’d love to figure this out!

I am guessing on the species entirely. The last picture includes a piece of dog poop and a fly that the spider appeared to be hunting on top of the poop according to my kid. The fly had fallen off by the time I took the picture. Is this kind of hunting behavior typical for a spider like this?
