Accipiters (Genus Accipiter)Observer
sandor_inDescription
Location marked where I first saw it fly into a bush and grab a mouse or something.
I think it was a cooper's. Got a pretty good look at it when it first struck and took its prey to the nearest tree branch, but happened to quickly and then didn't like me watching, so kept flying farther away when ever I got centered up on 'em.
I didn't have the camera with the long lens with me, so no good photos.

Green Cockscomb (Sedum praealtum)Observer
sandor_inDescription
Probably planted in the yard above.
Pieces break off and fall down the cliff and start to grow.
Third photo shows one such piece.

What
Hairy Pennywort (Hydrocotyle moschata)Observer
sandor_inDescription
Tiny leaves growing among the moss in one of the planted areas of a parking lot.
Don't know if it was intentionally planted here. Seems too small for a landscaper to have bothered with.
Lot is generally neglected.

What
Hairy Woodpecker (Dryobates villosus)Observer
sandor_inDescription
First spotted hunting for food in the first three photos.
After it flew off, I went around to see if I could find it and saw it on the bare tree in the other photos. While I was taking those pictures, another one appeared from somewhere and took off before I knew it, so I figured there was a nest. The first one then ducked into a hole just above where it had been sitting.
I waited around for the other to return, to see if I could get some more photos, but it took 15-20 minutes, and then happened so quickly that I failed.

What
Western Gilled Bolete (Phylloporus arenicola)Observer
sandor_inDescription
Because the edge was against the soil and I couldn't see the stipe, I thought it was some kind of shelf fungi, growing from a root or something.
Only saw that stem when I looked at the photos from holding the camera below it.

Coral Fungi (Genus Ramaria)Observer
sandor_inDescription
The dried brown things in the last two photos were less than a foot away from the others. I'm assuming they're earlier fruiting bodies that have dried out.

but more colorful than others I've seen.

Araneus andrewsiObserver
sandor_inDescription
This spider builds it's web across an entire window. Maybe getting some advantage from catching the moths attracted by the light from inside.
First photos taken while at the center of the web last night. Others taken this morning at it's daytime corner hiding place.

Maybe L. draba, but according to Jfgaskin's comments on other observations from the area, I'll have to go back once it goes to seed to look at the pods.
I'll try and do that later this year, and will take more photos and add a link here, if I do.
