Description

Flamingo diversity in the Corvallis area is surprising. I've seen orange, pink, and black individuals (see https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/38453080) but I've never seen one like this.

The tiny strings of beads are Anabaena. Obtained from Azolla filiculoides, from the pond in Willamette Park. I collected the sample on the bioblitz day, October 18, but didn't process and photo them until October 21. I hope they'll count for the bioblitz.
