Description

Uncertain of the species but leaning toward C. campestris. Plants in glorious full bloom, no seeds yet, growing on a Helianthus plant. Styles free, stigmas spheric, corolla scales present, fringed. Corolla lobe tips seem more acute than corolla lobes (but not sure if the difference is pronounced enough); calyx lobes about = to corolla tube. Small-tooth Dodder Cuscuta denticulata

Observer

Description

C. denticulata seems most likely, based on geography, plant community, and host plants. Styles 2, free; stigmas spheric; calyx and corolla lobe tips similar, obtuse to rounded (not acute or acuminate); however, I can't find any corolla scales, and the petals are mostly ± entire, only some slightly denticulate (though perhaps more denticulate when dry, as in last photo).
