Four females caught by net on second story lanai. A bug zapper had one Aedes but could not ID because was too old and decayed. Did not see any albopictus this time. Has been lots of rain recently. No Culex or Wyeomyia either.

a number of mosquitoes here, next door to a house that Durrell and I visited a few weeks ago - it has a lot of standing water and LOTS of mosquitoes. This location is about 20 NW of the earlier one, so likely the same set of mosquitoes. Four aegypti and one albo.

Caught indoors sitting on wall. Watched it expel fluid drops from abdomen, which can be seen in the photos. ID as Wyeomia instead of Culex because of the dark hind legs.

Low density, took a while at dusk to catch two flying. Also the person living here has a zapper, and we found a dozen or so culex bodies in it. No Aedes - I think we would have been able to see the striped legs easily.

5 female aegypti caught by net in a few minutes in the early evening.

New trick - stick a piece of sticky plastic to the side of the aspirator jar, and the insects stick to it nicely, no need to stop catching them for photos, just keep sucking them in one or two at a time. To get this photo I had to push one with tweezers that had landed on its side hiding its back.

Also, this photo taken without a macro lens using an old iPhone 4S. Zoom in and you can clearly see the markings for all five.

Female with blood in abdomen. Caught near house catchment tank, source was probably some discarded bamboo that had been cut lengthwise and left to catch water. Photo taken through net. Durrell may have better photos of this, need to check we don't duplicate records.
