What
Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)Observer
zoeh19Description
There were a lot of female mallards resting and eating the algae at this pond. I've been going to this pond for several years, and though there are normally mallards here, never this many. At least that I've seen. They were all females as well. I didn't see one male mallard.

The 'neddles' were a tad on the softer side.
The bark was the main trait of this tree, however, due to a challenge I can't take it's picture. I believe it is some kinda of pine tree.
The bark had a "feathered" like appearance.

What
Scudder's Bush Katydids (Genus Scudderia)Observer
zoeh19Description
Found on exterior of door, possibly looking for smaller insects and bugs to eat. Due to the outside light, it is possible that it knows that other creatures would be in that area.
Or it is also possible that it was just relaxing on the door.
After gaining the first photo, the Katydid moved onto the exterior wall. After taking the second photo, an attempt at "capturing" it was made, in order to take more up close photos. However, the subject ended up flying away before the attempt was fully made.
About 2.5 inches long. Light green coloration. Long antennas, most likely two inches.
