This one was much larger than the other more common finds in Tas. I was really surprised to see it. I think it's a Psychodinae that we haven't found before?

Someone has labelled a very similar looking image with Clogmia albipunctata on the ALA. May be it?...but on further looking there seem to be very diverse looking flies labelled as this species....

I couldn't see any detail of this with the naked eye. It was probably around 2mm, but I could see a moving thing. The detail isn't great, but it's still interesting.

It doesn't get much more dull than this! A pest of Hazel trees. I think it is mainly in Tasmania (likely skipped over from NZ) according to the AFD.

I say this name confidently,( yet almost certain that I will be wrong yet again). Very, very bad track record! This was waiting on the car when I returned from my walk.

(Added later) Thanks to Bernhard Jacobi for ID.

This is the second time I've found an ant with a head attached. The first time it was attached with the decapitated one's jaws. This time it just seems like a tangle. This ant had turned up inside and is photographed on curtain lining, above my head.
