I, Larry Koenig, near native Baton Rougeon, have been fascinated with plants -orchids and gingers, bananas and aroids most of which are not native to this area. Growing plants I spend time in the dirt, moving leaves around, fermenting compost, and marveling at the interactions of a variety of creatures. I've also spent an inordinate amount of time (or so my wife would say) paddling around on local waterways and walking in the woods and wild places. That has allowed me to see and sometimes get upclose and personal with a host of wild creatures. All that and a restless mind has left me with a thirst for understanding -of life and living creatures, of reason, of purpose, of the natural world and our place in it.
