I live in a very rural area of Madera County, California, southwest of Yosemite in the Sierra Nevada foothills at around 1300 feet elevation. We have 127 acres of beautiful oak savannah surrounded by thousands of acres of mostly cattle ranches.

I've been hiking through our ranch and those properties of our neighbors who have granted permission for me to do so since 1998, although I didn't start photographing anything until 2007 or so. Since then, I have been attempting to document as many of the life forms as possible in this area.

I love fungi, wildflowers and plants, and birds. Also other critters of various shapes and sizes. Oh, and slime mold.
