Wildflowers of the northeast U.S. are my thing! I'm not a botanist and I have no formal training in ecology; I just really like flowers, especially spring ephemerals.

I grew up in a log cabin in the woods in the Adirondacks of upstate New York, in the days before the internet. This informed my love for the natural world in general, and, more specifically, the tiny gateways to another world that flower blossoms can be. I was that weird kid in my eighth grade class who got teased and jokingly called "the botanist" for loving plants. The Mary Oliver poem "Trilliums" accurately sums up my experience as a girl.

I now live in northern Worcester County, Massachusetts, in a swampy area in the woods, adjacent to a ton of conservation land -- so basically I moved from one forest to another ;)

iNat has been a lifesaver for me during the current pandemic, and I am currently working to explore and catalog all the conservation areas in my town on iNat.

I have a lot of intellectual curiosity, and I'm always interested in expanding my knowledge of the living things in my area, regardless of species. I love being educated about how to ID a plant/animal/fungus/whatever, so please don't hesitate to correct any of my IDs.
