I am Professor Emeritus at Lord Fairfax Community College where I taught various Field Biology classes in ornithology, mammalogy, herpetology, ichthyology, dendrology, Plant Life of Virginia, Mushrooms of Virginia and Field Techniques … I occasionally taught “A Natural History of the Southern Appalachians” at the University of Virginia’s Mountain Lake Biological Station.
I am program head of our Outdoor and Nature Photography Careers Certificate program.
My wife and I write and do all of the photography for a Nature Guide series to the National Parks for Falcon Press. We have completed books on Shenandoah, Blue Ridge Parkway, Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone and Yosemite. We do a similar series of Pocket Wildflower Guides for each of the major national parks. We have also done a series of children’s nature books for Far Country Press.
