The Greater Simonsberg Conservancy (GSC) is a non-profit and public benefit organisation situated in the heart of Cape Winelands, along the slopes of the iconic Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. The role of the Conservancy is to increase environmental awareness on topics such as conservation of natural vegetation, alien vegetation clearing and the importance of being “fire ready”. Here on iNaturalist, the Conservancy aims to document plant diversity of critically endangered Swartland Shale Renosterveld and Mountain Fynbos fragments that reside within the production landscape of the Cape Winelands.
