My expertise is in wood and insect-associated microfungi, especially in the Ceratocystidaceae, and my background is in fungal systematics and phylogenetics, but I'm always working to expand my hands-on knowledge on broader groups of fungi and fungal diseases for teaching purposes.

I like using a hand lens to photograph tiny things. Nearly all my close-up field photos are taken with a simple hand lens held up to my phone camera, and nearly all microscope photos are taken with the phone held up to the microscope lens. The things I am most confident about IDing are usually only possible with microscopy, but in general I don't mind polite tags for fungi, even if I can't help.

All my iNaturalist photos are public domain, no exceptions, but I always love to hear about when and how they're used for things.
