Deaf-blind, amateur sound recordist living in the NYC metro area.

Note: most of my own recordings (~1,500 so far) end up on Xeno-Canto. My activity here is centered on identifying others' observations.

I identify only audio / sound observations of the following taxa. I make no claim to be an expert, and my blindness renders me unable to read sonograms. All apply to eastern North America; other areas listed below should be understood as an addition to this:

• Birds (Aves): North America, Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, with limited knowledge of some species outside these areas;
• Crickets and katydids (order Orthoptera, suborder Ensifera): stronger on crickets (infraorder Gryllidia) with a few western, Caribbean, European and Asian species;
• Cicadas (Cicadidae), primarily those in the genera Diceroprocta, Magicicada, Megatibicen, Neocicada and Neotibicen;
• Frogs and toads (Anura): with a few western, Caribbean and European species;
• Most commonly heard land mammals except bats (Chiroptera)
