Hello! I am a botany undergraduate student at the University of Washington. Usually I am observing the plants of Washington, often of the Olympic Peninsula. I am especially keen of non-seed plants—bryophytes, lycophytes, and ferns—but also graminoids, and a fistful of other flowering plant families. I am also interested in insects, fungi, birds, herps, and spiders but my knowledge in those areas is limited.
I enjoy plant systematics and edaphic endemism, and I currently am doing research on Allium and bryophytes.

Useful resources:

For vascular plants of PNW: Flora of the PNW 2nd ed., the Burke Herbarium Image Collection, and the Carex Working Groups' grass and sedge field guides for the PNW.
For bryophytes of PNW: Bryophyte Flora of North America, Elva Lawton's Moss Flora of the Pacific Northwest, McCune and Hutton's Common Mosses of Western Oregon and Washington.

My gear:

For micrographs: OMAX M827L LED binocular compound microscope with a 5.0MP USB digital camera, and an AmScope SE305 for stereo microscopy.
For image stacking: PICOLAY.
For photographs: OLYMPUS TG-6 and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7.

Thanks to everyone who has shared their knowledge & IDed my stuff! Feel free to ping or message me if you have any questions re: my observations or IDs.
