Greetings & Welcome! 🌿

My passion for wildlife started in childhood, watching cicada killers, European hornets, and butterflies swarm a sap-leaking mimosa tree in my front yard. Over the years, I’ve had amazing encounters with Southern black widows, a six-inch red centipede, bald-faced hornets, and local coyotes. These experiences—and a desire to document local biodiversity—brought me to iNaturalist.

My Observations

  • 📸 Media: I strive for clear photos and put meticulous effort into high-quality audio recordings. Please check out my sounds!
  • 🏷️ Tagging: I occasionally tag expert identifiers to help verify tough species. Thank you for your help!

Audio Copyright & Licensing

🎵 Please Note: As of September 26, 2026, all audio files previously or currently uploaded to this profile are now no license (all rights reserved). I retain full copyright over audio content aside from rights granted to iNaturalist. If you wish to use any posted audio, please message me to negotiate terms. Thank you!

My Identification Milestones

  • Winter 2025: After occasionally uploading an observation to be identified over the years, decided to try identifying, so set a goal for 2,000 global IDs. It was challenging, resulting in a higher error rate outside North America.
  • Summer 2026: Completed another 3,000 IDs focused strictly on familiar USA species to ensure better accuracy.
  • Current Status: With my 5,000-ID milestone reached, I am stepping back from identifying until next summer due to time constraints.

Profile Picture Setup 🦆

My mute swan photo was "digiscoped" in July 2008 using an Orion Apex 127 telescope paired with a Nikon Coolpix 4500 camera. It was heavy and required a tripod, but it was a fantastic, budget-friendly setup at the time.

Take care, God bless, and thanks for visiting!
