I maintain a number of journal posts about particular taxa to help document the basis for many of my IDs. I hope these are helpful.

Please comment if you want more information on any of my IDs or votes. I'm striving for an accurate list of wild Monterey County plants - one that basically matches the list in Matthews & Mitchell's Plants of Monterey County book (2nd ed. 2015, rev. 2024). So I make a lot of contra-IDs or down-votes on observations that don't seem to fit the criteria of being naturalized in the county (keeping in mind that iNaturalist is primarily intended for documenting wild organisms). I often make mistakes, though. So again, please make a comment if something seems awry or doesn't make sense.
