Lead Botanist for the Nevada Natural Heritage Program in Carson City, Nevada, since 1991. I've collected, photographed, and identified plants extensively in the western North American deserts and mountains for 35+ years.

Generally familiar with the vascular plants of interior western North America. Expertise with the White Mountains of CA-NV and adjacent areas, and with rare plants of Nevada and the Great Basin. Expertise with Asteraceae (sunflower family). Wrote treatments of the genera Ancistrocarphus, Chaenactis, Chamaechaenactis, Diaperia, Filago, Hesperevax, Logfia, Micropus, Micropsis, Psilocarphus, and Stylocline for Flora of North America North of Mexico, The Jepson Manual, and other projects.
