I am a PhD student at Rice University in Houston, Texas studying seismology. I primarily use seismology as a tool for imaging the subsurface, from the upper few meters of soil to the large-scale structure of subduction zones and volcanoes. I've been a birder for about two years now and iNaturalist has become my gateway for learning about everything else I encounter while birding and doing Earth science field work. Every day is a good day to become a better naturalist!
