BA in Integrative Biology from Harvard University (2022). 5+ years experience in various Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ) collections, starting as undergraduate intern and then as a curatorial assistant post-graduation. Entomology: Completed my senior thesis concerning the spatiotemporal effects of urbanization on Geometridae biodiversity and Biston betularia morphology. Worked on NSF-funded digitization projects Big-Bee and LightningBug. Invertebrate Zoology: Worked on NSF-funded CSBR grant subsampling primary type specimens for cryogenic preservation. Malacology: general curation.

As an undergrad I focused on terrestrial invertebrates & entomology, so I am fairly knowledgeable with their broad taxonomies; always happy to learn more. Some specific lineages that are of interest to me:

  • Insecta: Hymenoptera: Anthophila
  • Insecta: Coleoptera: Meloidae (specifically first instar larvae triungulin, especially when phoresy is captured on bees; I have been targeting Neotropical & Oriental Xylocopa as there's a lack of Nemognathinae triungulin records on iNat)
  • Insecta: Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Neotropical Cicadellinae (most familiar with genus Erythrogonia)

Completed my senior thesis comparing spatiotemporal changes in urbanization against New England Geometridae morphology and species richness in Spring 2022.

I broadly enjoy all things related to invertebrate natural history collections including - but not limited to - museum specimen research, taxonomy, systematics, parasitism, evolutionary biology, conservation, and paleontology.

I occasionally comb through records that are only IDed to Arthropoda to add a more specific group ID so that they may be seen by more knowledgeable people; I am able to correctly sort most of these, but if you have better a better ID, please let me know and I am always happy to update. It is sometimes hard to keep track of observations & comments that tag me, so if you have a more specific question or comment, feel free to message me directly!
