Description

male. 2nd and 3rd photo - empty nest of recently fledged Supurb fairy wrens, 1st photo from front (branch pulled back for photo) and 2nd photo is side view. built in home garden close to back door, in shrubby small leaf grevillea (not local species) protected by taller shrub and trees. opening of nest facing away from prevailing sth westerllies. nest woven into tall stems of grass and shrub branches. chicks were fed by two male and three females. common to home garden and region. 14/10 - after relocating to denser shrubbery about 50 m away from nest, 2 chicks seen this morning at front of house following adults, a male and female. feathers of possibly a third predated chick found yesterday at bottom of front steps.
