This species was quite common in many places around the Island. Unfortunately I did not manage to find an open flower, and to be honest could not tell if the specimens I am displaying were just finished flowering or about to open apart from the obvious shots with swelling ovaries attached. Flower approximately 3mm across. I am pretty sure of species of these plants as I have a journal volume which features this as the only Taeniophyllum sp. noted in Tonga, Niue and the Cook Islands (Cribb & Whistler 2011)
