Bad photos sorry, main pic taken in dim lighting under the roots of a beech tree where this was found. Brown speckled white egg, did have a tiny rhizomorph which is visible in one of these bad photos. This ball was interesting in that it was already blushing bluish before being picked up; it then bruised red, rather than blue. The centre is pretty truffle-looking so I don't think this is in Scleroderma... Octaviania is my best guess. Strong 'mushroom' smell.
