Description

Manukau Harbour seashore, in the vicinity of Cape Horn, Lynfield, Auckland. One live worm, in a tube cloaked with shell fragments, stuck to the underside of an intertidal rock.

A live specimen of Lepidastheniella comma was extracted from the same tube!

Photos 1-7 show the head end of the worm.

Photos 8-9 show the tail end of the worm, extruding from the tube.

Photos 10-11 show the tube on the underside of the rock.

Photos 12-15 show the body of the worm, with the head end broken off.
