Found on damp brickwork along with Leptobarbula berica and Conocephalum conicum. The leaves curve back towards the substrate. The base of the leaves is important for ID as there is a line of very narrow cells at the margin. The mid-leaf cells are papillose, giving the upper margins a jagged appearance.
