3.0 mm long. Found as bycatch when going through a survey trap collection for Ips engraver beetles (Lindgren funnel trap, with Ips pheromone lures: cis-verbenol, ipsenol, ipsdienol).

This species is very similar to X. ferrugineus, and it's possible that the taxonomic status of the two will be revised in the future. But this ID is based on the current understanding - it's a bit darker, larger and more robust, with regular discal interstrial setae, and the major pair of declivital spines set farther upwards.
