Description

I found this tiny, ant-sized wasp after she decided she didn't like my neck. So I did the logical thing and put her under a microscope. I suspect the genus to be Laelius, and Dr. Ascher at BugGuide was able to verify down to Family. The lack of a noded petiole and the short scapes are among the traits to distinguish this group of wasp from ants.
