Description

This specimen was spotted in McKinney Falls State Park along the Homestead Trail not too far from the Smith Picnic Table. This specimen has a flower composed of large pink petals and smaller white petals, as well as a smaller stamen and carpel. There appear to be both terminal and axillary petals as the flower appears to be very spread out. I am unsure of this flower's symmetry, but I believe it to be bilateral. The specimen had a tall stem, maybe 1 foot high and was found mostly alone at the edge of a meadow.
