Description

Stoeberia gigas


A perennial succulent shrub that can grow up till 60cm high. The leaves are almost bean shaped,in diameter are round under and flat above, opposite, smooth, can grow to 4cm long. The leaves are grey-green with pink or red tips, leaves grows on temporary fleshy stems which later on becomes woody. The flowers are white and inattentive, can grow to 1cm in diameter. The fruit capsules are woody and disintegrate quickly, has 5 locules which opens when it gets wet and stays open when dry. Flowers June to September.
