Description

Little miracle

Spotted by my sharp-eyed husband: two little eggs in the sand with not so much as a twig or feather to protect them. Totally relying on camouflage must have some success: look at all those footprints! Eventually we noticed their mama doing stealth dashes backwards and forwards across the rocks nearby and when we backed off she did an extra-stealthy zig-zag up to the nest site, finally announcing her satisfaction at their survival by uttering a single loud squeak.
