Many thanks to botaness for tipping me off to the fact that these (and many other cool things) are flowering on Mt. D at the moment. I believe the fat lower lip sets this apart from the similar P. elongata. I saw the greatest concentrations along the Falls Trail, but they seemed to be scattered here and there all over. CNPS lists them as "fairly threatened" (4.2), but they seem to be doing pretty well on Mt. Diablo.
